Description
Description
(Identitätsdokumente). A pair of identity documents, including a Wehrpaß named to Andreas Metzenauer, born 4 September 1891 in Ergolding, Bavaria. Constructed of a paper stock binding with 52 pages, the Wehrpaß includes a black-and-white photograph of the bearer and indicates that Metzenauer was a bilingual (French-speaking) Catholic who served in the First World War. He did not receive any awards, but was a recipient of the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918. It includes a separate extract of Metzenauer’s service record from that conflict. Metzenauer was once again drafted for service on April 18 1940 and served in a variety of administrative duties. Secreted within the Wehrpass is an immunization record, as well as a civilian internee property record issued on 13 September 1945. The Wehrpaß measures 105 mm (w) x 145 mm (h). Minor soiling and material fatigue are evident, and it is in an overall better than very fine condition. Accompanied by a NSDAP Political Leader identity document, constructed of card stock and featuring a black-and-white photograph of Metzenauer. It was issued in Vilshofen an der Donau in November 1936, and indicates the Metzenauer was a Blockleiter with a party membership number of 2,539,285. It measures 135 mm (w) x 100 mm (h) and is in an overall very fine condition. Both are accompanied by a period original leather poucher, opening with two functional magnetic metal eyelets. Unmarked, the pouch measures 174 mm (w) x 118 mm (h) and is in an extremely fine condition.
Also accompanied by an Arbeitsbuch, named to Alfred Arendt, constructed of a card stock binding with 32 pages. Born in Elbing on 4 November 1916, Arendt was employed as a construction worker from the time of issue (15 July 1935) through 27 June 1947. The Arbeitsbuch measures 105 mm (w) x 148 mm (h) and is in an extremely fine condition.
