A Soldbuch to the 695th Heavy Flak Battalion; Captured

A Soldbuch to the 695th Heavy Flak Battalion; Captured - Wehrt was born February 8th, 1905 in Bliesdorf/ Hamburg, and worked as a farm hand in his civilian life. He stood at 165 cm tall, thin build with blond hair and blue eyes. His wife’s name was Anna. These personal details were reviewed and stamped by an Oberleutnant of the appointment staff, Flak Barracks Rendsburg on October 5th, 1940. He was first assigned to the Luftwaffe Training Camp in Hohn on October 16th, 1940. His next assignment was with the Luftwaffe Bau Battalion 7/VIII/XI. In August 1942 he was awarded the Eastern Front Medal. On December 1st, 1941 he was promoted to Gefreiter. On November 1st, 1942 he was promoted to Obergefreiter. He was admitted to a field hospital once in September of 1944. Until 1945 he was serving with the 695th Heavy Flak Battalion. He was captured and discharged by American forces in 1945.
