A Service Summary Report to a 6th SS North Division Member:  Klade was an Unterscharfuhrer in the 6th mountain artillery regiment of the 6th SS Kampfgruppe “Nord.” He was born on November 29th, 1921 in Bleiburg, Carinthia to a catholic family. His civilian job was railway worker. He volunteered for the Waffen-SS on January 15, 1941. He was trained with the 98K rifle, the MG34 machine gun, and in anti-tank warfare. He volunteered for a 12 year term By mid-June, 1941 he was with his unit preparing for war in the East. His first engagement was at the Battle of Salla in Finland in July 1941. It was during that difficult engagement that he earned his Iron Cross. He spent the rest of the war engaged in defensive battle in northern Finland against the Red Army advancing from Karelia. On November 30, 1941 he was promoted to Sturmmann. January 30th 1943 he was promoted to Rottenfuhrer, and on November 9th he was made an Unterscharfuhrer. On August 3rd, 1941 he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class. August 10th of the next year he was awarded the Eastern Front Medal. On June 10th, 1944 he was transferred to the SS Special Training Reserve Artillery Regiment Prague
