A Grouping of Two First War British Anti-German Propaganda Medal Against German Excesses

A grouping of two First War British Anti-german Propaganda medals exploiting the German Imperial Army’s excesses; both in intentionally crudely cast iron (metal) in the shape of a traditional Iron Cross; with a small suspension ring towards the top of the “medal”; one reading “For Kultur”, the other “Kaiser’s Iron Cross”; measuring approximately 38 mm x 45 mm; very fine condition.

Footnote: These “spoof” Iron Crosses were dropped over Belgian and French towns and cities near the Western Front in an effort to demoralize the enemy. “For Kultur” was also a pun on the Kaiser’s claim to be spreading culture throughout Europe.
