In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

                          Description
An Egypt Medal, in silver, rim officially engraved J. DYER. BOY. 1. CL: H.M.S. “HECLA”. , dated reverse 1882, swivel suspension, pitting evident on the obverse, light contact, very fine condition.
Instituted in 1882. In bronze, full size, unnamed, suspended from a bar bearing a crescent moon and star, light contact, remains in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: During the Egyptian War of 1882, HMS Hecla served as a torpedo depot ship, supporting British naval operations off the coast of Alexandria. Though not a combat vessel, Hecla played a vital logistical role by transporting and maintaining small steam torpedo boats, which were used for harbor defense, reconnaissance, and shallow-water operations. Stationed with the Mediterranean Fleet, she was present during the bombardment of Alexandria on 11 July 1882 and continued to support naval forces throughout the campaign. Crew members of Hecla were eligible for the Egypt Medal, often with the "Alexandria 11th July" clasp, as well as the Khedive’s Star, recognizing their contribution to the successful British intervention in Egypt.
