Description
(Silver). Antique. A teapot constructed of silver. The base of the teapot features an alternating flower and leaf pattern on a pebbled background. The belly of the pot bears a motif of leaves, flowers and simple acanthus designs. The center of either side of the belly bears a circular field, one of which is blank, the other bears the image of a lion rampant with a scrolling banner under it with the inscription “AMICUS OMNIBUS” (Friend to All). The shoulder bears an acanthus design and the lid features a leaf, flower and simple acanthus design with a rose finial in the center. The lid is attached to the pot with a hinge located by the handle. The handle bears an acanthus thumbpiece. The spout of the pot bears a leaf, flower and simple acanthus design with a rounded mouth. The bottom of the pot is marked with a lion passant, a leopard head, a gothic style letter “U”, the bust of Queen Victoria. The center bears the mark “W H” for the firm of William Hunter. Measuring 285mm (l) x 180mm (w) x 210mm (h) and weighing 823 grams. In extremely fine condition.

The bottom of the creamer is marked with a lion passant, a leopard head, a gothic style letter “U”, the bust of Queen Victoria. The center bears the mark “W H” for the firm of William Hunter. Measuring 154mm (l) 80mm (w) x 170mm (h) and weighing 292 grams. In extremely fine condition.

The center bears the mark “W H” for the firm of William Hunter. Measuring 230mm (l) x 145mm (w) x 135mm (h) and weighing 453 grams. In extremely fine condition.
