An eight point silver star consisting of clusters of five individual faceted rays, obverse centre bearing a silver gilt and white enamel Latin cross with a blue enameled anchor at centre, adorned by a red-enameled Spanish Royal crown, reverse centre presents vertical pin with dual stays, makers marked with cartouche of J. It was founded to recognize the Spanish Navy Force which was taking part in many overseas battles at that time. The Order was awarded to members of the Spanish Naval Forces, Civil Guard, civilians, and foreigners for meritorious and gallant actions within the sphere of naval service. The awards with red distinction were awarded in recognition of courage and effective actions in overseas combat. In 1995, the Order was amended by Juan Carlos I, and the yellow and blue distinctions were added to the Order.
This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967.
