(Völkerschlacht Erinnerungskreuz). A rare Battle of Leipzig (Battle of the Nations) Commemorative Cross, constructed of magnetic blackened Iron, consisting of a ribbed and narrow-armed Cross Pattée, with its three, six, and nine o’clock arms fastened with silver caps terminating in ball finials, the obverse overlaid by a central silver plaque bearing a raised date of “OCT: 1813”, the arm caps bearing dates “16.”, “17.”, “18.”, and “19.” clockwise from the twelve o’clock arm, the reverse overlaid by a central silver plaque bearing an inscription of “HEIL DEM” (“HAIL TO”), the arm caps bearing initials “RU.”, “OE.”, “PR.”, and “SC.” clockwise from the twelve o’clock arm for Russia, Austria, Prussia, and Sweden, respectively, unmarked, measuring 38.39 mm (w) x 42.00 mm (h), weighing 10.3 grams, a scarce decoration in extremely fine condition.
