(Ordine della Corona d'Italia). Instituted February 20, 1868 by Emmanuel II. A Grand Officer Set, the neck badge in Gold, a white enamelled cross with savoy knots in each quadrant, the obverse featuring a lombardy crown on a blue enamel field, the reverse medallion featuring a black enamelled eagle, measures 50.1 mm (w) x 52.5 mm (h - inclusive of integral ring), weighs 15.56 grams, marked B on the reverse of the loop, worn on original neck ribbon, light wear, extremely fine.
The Breast Star, in silver, featuring eight faceted arms with large ball finials, the central medallion presenting the white enamel cross with Savoy knots in the quadrants, the lombardy crown on a blue enamelled field encircled by a Gold ring, the reverse of the star presenting a vertical pin assembly, reverse cartouche of CRAVANZOLA, measures 75.7mm (w) x 74.3 mm (h), weighs 55.09 grams, dark patina, enamels intact, hinge and clasp functional, medallion spins, extremely fine.
Contained in original case of issue, a red leatherette exterior with cypher of Victor Emmanuel, interior lid marked CRAVANZOLA ROMA, black velvet medal base with two compartments for the decorations, measures 107 mm (w) x 220 mm (h) x 27 mm (d), scuffing to corners, lid slightly off set, functional hinge and clasp, very fine.
