A Kriegsmarine barometer, constructed of an aluminum alloy casing with a black exterior paint, featuring a black face marked with numerals 800-1500 and measuring pressure in millibars (mb), with an intact hand, the face also marked with inscriptions of “NUR FÜR TECHNSICHEN EINSATZ” (“FOR TECHNICAL USE ONLY”) and “VON 700-3000 MBL BELASTBAR” (“LOAD CAPACITY FROM 700-3000 MB”), situated above a Kriegsmarine acceptance mark and below the maker’s logo of G. Lufft Metallbarometerfabrik, Stuttgart, the rim of the casing perforated with three eyelets for rivet attachment, measuring 15 cm in diameter, three cracks are visible to the glass face, a scarce example of a barometer with measurements specifically configured for use on Kriegsmarine U-Boats (used to assess interior air pressure during engine operation), in very fine condition.
