Morocco Medal: In silver, engraver marked ""GEORGES LEMAIRE"" on the obverse, measuring 29 mm (w) x 50.5 mm (h) inclusive of its olive palms wreath and crescent moon suspension, original ribbon; and Orient Medal: In bronze, engraver marked ""GEORGES LEMAIRE"" on the obverse, measuring 29.5 mm (w) x 50.7 mm (h) inclusive of its olive palms wreath and crescent moon suspension, original ribbon. Extremely fine.

Footnote: The Morocco Medal was instituted on July 22, 1909 for award to military (and some civilian) personnel who had taken part in the pacification of the French Colony of Morocco. The Orient Medal was instituted jointly with the Dardanelles Medal on June 15, 1926. The Orient medal was for award to French participants of the Salonika campaign (1915-1918) during the First World War. 

This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He acted as both President and Vice-President of the Orders and Medals Society of America (OMSA) and is responsible for organizing their first convention in 1960. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
