Canada, CEF. A First War Trio to Driver L.F. Carr, 5th Battalion, Died of Wounds, 1918

A 1914-15 Star, bronze, full size, reverse impressed 41029 GNR:L CARR. CAN FD:ART:, original ribbon, heavy wear, remains near very fine. 

A British War Medal, silver, full size, rim impressed 41020 GNR L.F. CARR. C.F.A., original ribbon, dark patina, extremely fine.

A Victory Medal, bronze gilt, full size, rim impressed 41020 GNR L.F. CARR. C.F.A., original ribbon, notable gilt wear and oxidation, better than fine. 

A Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery Cap Badge, browning copper, two lugs on the reverse, measures 65.2 mm (w) x 48.7 mm (h), dark captain, very fine. 

Footnote: Lincoln Carr was born in Montreal in 1896, and was employed as a sales clerk. He enlisted with the 5th Battery, C.F.A, in September, 1914, at the age of 18. He was awarded the Good Conduct Badge in September, 1916. In July 1917, Carr was serving with the 13th Canadian Field Ambulance. On May 17, 1918, near Arras, France, reports state that he was dangerously wounded, by way of a gunshot to the head. On the 24th, at the No. 42 Casualty Clearing Station, Carr died of his wounds.
