A medalbar consisting of five decorations, measures 160 mm (w) x 95 mm (h - to base of 1914-15 Star), swing mounted, horizontal pin on the reverse, very fine, comprising:
A 1914-15 Star, bronze gilt, full size, reverse impressed 1274 PTE. R. NARRACOTT. L’POOL R., very fine.
A British War Medal, in silver, full size, rim impressed 1274 PTE. R. NARRACOTT. L’POOL R., extremely dark patina and film on obverse, very fine.
A Victory Medal, in bronze gilt, full size, rim impressed 1274 PTE. R. NARRACOTT. L’POOL R., light wear, very fine.
A Canadian Overseas Service Medal, in silver, full size, extremely dark patina and film on obverse, very fine.
A 1939-45 British War Medal in silver, full size, extremely dark patina and film on obverse, very fine.
Accompanied by a ribbon bar of the first four medals, missing pin to the reverse, fine condition.
An Army Navy & Air Force Veterans Life Member medal, in silver gilt with enamels, reverse engraved RONALD NARRACOTT DOMINION ASSOCIATION 14TH MARCH 1960, marked J.R. GAUNT and STERLING at 6 o’clock reverse, worn on ribbon with LIFE MEMBER hanger, light gilt wear, measures 34 mm (w) x 38.5 mm (h), enamels intact, very fine.
A First War Sergeant rank chevron, in brown, creme and yellow embroidery on khaki, measures 130 mm (w) x 80 mm (h), very fine.
Four Second War RCA Corp Patches in the form of cannons, each measuring roughly 75 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in white and green embroidery on khaki, all very fine.
A Second War 1st pattern service Chevron, three black thread chevrons with a white chevron at the bottom indicating 1939 enlistment, measures 65 mm (w) x 70 mm (h), light thread wear to edges, very fine.
Second War Service Chevrons, red embroidery on khaki, indicating three years service; with one set depicting four red chevrons and one white denoting four years service with enlistment before September 10 1940, ranging from very fine to extremely fine.
TWO RCA insignia on a patch, red embroidery on dark blue felt, very fine.
Three CANADA insignia, creme embroidery on khaki, one single and one double, very fine.
Footnote: R. Narracott served with the Liverpool Regiment during the first war. He was demobilized at the end of the war, and returned home in April 1919.
The King’s (Liverpool Regiment) served with distinction throughout the First World War, fighting in major campaigns on the Western Front, at Gallipoli, and in the Middle East. Its Regular battalions saw heavy action at Ypres, the Somme, and Passchendaele, while the famous Liverpool Pals Battalions suffered severe losses during the Somme offensive of 1916. Other units fought in Egypt and Palestine, contributing to the capture of Jerusalem. By 1918, the regiment had earned a proud record of bravery and sacrifice, reflecting the spirit and endurance of Liverpool’s soldiers.
