 A small first war swing mounted medal bar, measures 70 mm (w), horizontal pin on the reverse, victory medal ribbon only partially attached to the bar, consisting of two decorations: 

A British War Medal, silver, full size, rim impressed 163726 PTE. J. WOOD. 60-CAN. INF., original ribbon, light wear, very fine. 

A Victory Medal, bronze gilt, full size, rim impressed 163726 PTE. J. WOOD. 60-CAN. INF., original ribbon, light wear, very fine.

A Loyal Order of Ancient Shepherds Medal, in bronze gilt and enamels, reverse engraved PRESENTED TO BRO. J. WOOD. BY THE “GEORGE JACKSON” LODGE 9/9/02, measures 32.4 mm (w) x 54.4mm (h), original ribbon with decorative clasp, light wear, intact enamels, very fine. 

A Canadian Legion Vimy Pilgrimage Medal, silvered bronze, marked J.R. GAUNT, original ribbon with Canadian Legion 1936 clasp bearing horizontal pin on the reverse, measures 31.1mm (w) x 36.9 mm (h), light wear to silvering, near very fine. 

An 84th Infantry Battalion Cap Badge, browning copper, unmarked, two lugs on the reverse, measures 38.1 mm (w) x 37.7 mm (h), extremely fine. 

A Silver War Badge, in silver, vertical pin on the reverse, reverse impressed C71402, measures 32 mm (diameter), light wear, very fine. 

A Canadian Legion Badge, 1927, in bronze and enamels, reverse with single screwpost and numbered 67721, marked SCULLY, very fine. 

A Pledge of Loyalty, 1939, in bronze and red lacquer, reverse bears a single horizontal pin, marked BIRKS & ELLIS, very fine. 

A Canadian Corps Reunion Badge, 1938, in browning copper and red enamels, single screwpost, marked C.E. GLENDENNINGS TORONTO, enamels intact, light wear, very fine. 

Footnote: James Wood was born in June, 1877 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He enlisted for the war on August 5, 1915, at the age of 38. He sailed to England on September 25, 1915 and was officially taken on strength in October. He served with the 60th battalion. 

Throughout the war (specifically 1916), he suffered for myocarditis, debility, and bronchitis. He was discharged in 1919 as medically unfit following an active pulmonary tuberculosis diagnosis. 

He died in March 2 1951.
