Footnote: Allan Frederick Greenlees was born in London, Ontario in 1895. He was living with his parents in Toronto and working as an accountant at the time of his enlistment in March 1916. 

Throughout his service, he was hospitalized for scabies, influenza, and myalgia. In February 1917, he was appointed acting lieutenant corporal without pay. In May, 1917, he reverted to private.  Greenlees was awarded a good conduct badge in March 1918. He was demobilized in January 1919. He married Lillian Estelle Langrill in 1922, in York, Ontario. 

The Canadian Corps Cyclist Battalion was a unit of the CEF serving as mobile troops on bicycles. They acted as messengers, scouts, and engaged in combat as needed, seeing active service in France and Belgium.
