A corrugated hard-shelled case in red color and gilded edges, the exterior lid featuring gilded ornamented details, with bottom surface in brown exhibiting gilded Dutch royal coat of arms together with maker’s label of A MOUSSAULT HOFLEVERANCIER KALVERSTRAAT N 229 AMSTERDAM, interior with white silk lid and red velvet bed medal, measuring 99 mm (w) x 26 mm (h) x 105 mm (l), with busted holders and overall wearing exterior surfaces, nonfunctional push-button closer, fair condition.

Footnote: The Order of the Dutch Lion is still conferred upon Dutch citizens in recognition of exceptional contributions to the state and public life in the Netherlands. Recognised merits include contributions to the nation made through civil service, excellent cultural works including art, music, and literature, and important scientific research. This offering is a part of the "Dr. Albert Goodwin Collection", a preeminent assemblage of world Orders, Medals, and Decorations composed solely by Dr.Goodwin between 1946-1967. Dr. Goodwin had a successful career as an educator and prominent physician in New York as well as actively serving in both World Wars with the United States Medical Corps. He maintained further membership with the American Society of Military Collectors, the International Orders Research Society, and the American Numismatic Society.
