Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Iron Cross Badges & Insignia

(Eisernes Kreuz, Abzeichen und Insignien). A mixed lot of Iron Cross badges and insignia, including:

1. An 1870 boutonniere, constructed of partially blackened silver, the obverse consisting of a faithful depiction of the award, the reverse with a boutonniere-style attachment retaining a period original ribbon, maker marked “J. GODET & SOHN, BERLIN”, measuring 9.49 mm (w) x 9.95 mm (h), demonstrating a consistent patina throughout in addition to some loss of finish to the core, a high-quality miniature in near extremely fine condition.

2. A 1914 pendant, constructed of blackened and silvered magnetic metal, on loop for suspension, unmarked, measuring 25.08 mm (w) x 29.00 mm (h), weighing 4.0 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish and surface oxidation, in very fine condition.

3. An undated sew-on example, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with black enameled arms, perforated with a hole at each corner for attachment, unmarked, measuring 42.59 mm (w) x 42.85 mm (h), weighing 12.9 grams, demonstrating fine cracking to the enamels, in near extremely fine condition.

4. A second undated sew-on example constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse featuring a black painted core, perforated with dual holes throughout the frame for attachment, unmarked, measuring 40.17 mm (w) x 39.88 mm (h), weighing 5.5 grams, demonstrating scratching throughout, in very fine condition.
