Venezuela Republic. A Cased Order of the Liberator, I Class Star, c.1975

 (Orden del Libertador). Instituted October 22nd, 1813 by Simon Bolivar. A I Class breast star, constructed of faceted silvered and gilded bronze with enamels, in the shape of an eight-pointed star with five rays between each arm, along with a multi-ray sunburst with dual rays, the obverse with an ovular medallion featuring the right facing profile of Simon Bolivar in a blue enamel surround inscribed “Simon Bolivar” in capital letters, the reverse with a lateral hinge, vertical pinback with dual stays, and ball clasp, marked N.S. MEYER NEW YORK, measuring 75.7 mm (w) x 82.5 mm (l), weighing 49.25 grams, enamels intact, in very fine condition. 

Contained in the original case of issue, a black leatherette exterior marked with the Venezuelan coat of arms, the interior marked N.S. MEYER, measures 85 mm (w) x 117 mm (h) x 26 mm (d), extremely fine.
