Canada, Commonwealth. A Rare 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) Battle Dress with Cap Badge

A rare and untouched example of this sought after forward operating regiment, having been acquired together from a collector who had it since the 1970's, with a size number 12 Battle Dress, well marked on the interior of the right flank, C broad arrow marked and manufacturers markings for H. & G. Clothing Co. Ltd, dated 1944, the exterior with original felt patches with "Aldershot Weave" VIII CDN RECCE REGT 14 CH shoulder flashes (having been worn and sunken into wool tunic), as original sewn to the tunic, above the blue felt 2nd division patch, 4 year service chevron near cuff, with matching insignia on left shoulder, with wound stripe on left sleeve;

Found in pocket is an original and very well worn VIII RECCE (8th Reconnaissance Regiment 14th Canadian Hussars) ca badge, exhibiting all the wartime characteristics of a badge worn throughout the war, with mapleleaf tips having been curved down, wear to obverse detailing, with soiling and patina to reverse, dual lugs, measuring 49.45 mm (w) x 46.95 mm (h), as worn.
