Description

A presentation M7 bayonet, created to the G.I specifications of an imperial knife used during the Vietnam War. The unsharpened blade (though with sharp tip) features etched snakes and a dragon design and engraved UNITED STATES NAVY VIETNAM, with the opposite ricasso engraved 0060. The plated crossguard is marked IMPERIAL and US M7. The handle in black bakelite with an enamelled disc in the center featuring the United States Navy Crest, the pommel offers two pinch release buttons. Measuring 298 mm (w) x 73 mm (h), no scratches or smudges, in extremely fine condition.

The bayonet is contained in its original case of issue in blue velvet, Vietnam medal ribbon in the lid, with two clasps, measures 385 mm (w) x 120 mm (h) x 50 mm (d), light wear to corner, functional hinge and buckles, very fine.

Accompanied by a certification from the American Historical Foundation certifying the serial number 0060.
