A grouping of personal effects belonging to General Colin Powell, including:
1. A group of four Four-Star Generals epaulets belonging to General Powell. Each epaulet is constructed of black rayon-blend material with four vertically machine embroidered five-pointed stars in white thread with a single strip of gold bullion tresse running horizontally along the bottom of the board, the reverse plain showing a vertically running seam along the center, only one epaulet with a blue plastic core affixed on the inside, measuring 55 mm (w) x 104 mm.
2. A group of two identification name-tags belonging to General Powell. Each name-tag is constructed of plastic with a black lacquered foreground with recessed white capital letters reading “Powell” with white borders along the four edges of the tag, the one tag bearing the coat of arms of the United States Forces Command in gilt and red, white, and blue enamels with two butterfly clutch backings, the other just with Powell’s last name and two toothed clips, measuring 76 mm (w) x 25 mm (l).
3. A tie clip from the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF), constructed of gilded non-magnetic metal, with a medallion depicting the flower logo of the JGSDF, with a toothed clip on the reverse, measuring 45 mm (w) x 18 mm (l).
4. A single gilt bronze button bearing the Great Seal of the United States in high relief, the reverse with a fixed button loop for attachment, marked “Waterbury, COS. CONN. W21” on the reverse, measuring 23 mm in diameter.
5. A sealed pair of two cloth Combat Infantryman Badges (CIB), the badges constructed of olive-drab fabric with black machine embroidery on the obverse in the shape of a leftward facing rifle within a rectangular box and an upward facing, open-ended oak leaf wreath, vacuum sealed onto a cardstock backer marked “N.S. Meyer, Inc 1868” on the obverse with more information regarding the brand on the reverse, the cardstock bearing a price sticker of $1.15 on the top right corner, measuring 132 mm (w) x 130 mm (l).
6. Colin Powell’s Vietnam Era sealed military flag bag, constructed of olive drab cotton with a white twisted pull string to close the bag, contained in its original sealed plastic bag with a paper label attached, reading “8345-00-178-8495, Case - Flag, 1 Each” and “D3A100-77-M-0823”, measuring 155 mm (w) x 520 mm (l), in mint and unissued condition.
