United States. Two Merit Decorations of the Order of Odd Fellows, 1873

A large latin cross in silver with decorative arms, featuring a central medallion of a handshake with inscription MERIT, the reverse 12 o’clock arm offers a horizontal bar for ribbon attachment, marked TRADE MARK on the 6 o’clock arm, measures 56.2 mm (w) x 56.0 mm (h), weighs 20.25 grams, very fine. 

A large silver decoration, featuring a central silver twisted chain with a red glass bauble at the base, engraved “PRESENTED TO PBH. Peter Smith By the Brethren of the Chelsea Pride Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows L.O. as a mark of respect for past services. May 20th 1873., the reverse is plain, silver marks denoting 1872, London manufacture, and maker mark ADL, measures 105.4 mm (w) x 82.3 mm (h), weighs 42.52 grams, light wear, very fine.
