Original ribbon, light contact and gilt wear, better than very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, maker marked "ROYAL MINT" on the inside lid, recessed medal bed, residue on the reverse from previous labelling, case also better than very fine. Accompanied by assorted research papers.
Footnote: Beverly Woon Browne was born on September 19, 1883 in Haysville, Ontario (near New Hamburg), the son of Henry George Browne. He served with the 29th Waterloo Regiment (established in 1915 as the 29th Regiment (Highland Light Infantry of Canada)) as a Provost 2nd Lieutenant, beginning on January 7, 1901. Three months later, he achieved the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on April 2nd, followed by a promotion two months afterwards to Lieutenant onJune 10th and remained in this rank with the 29th Regiment until July 14, 1905. Browne moved to the West Coast, where he married Marion Helen Baillie, daughter of John Young Rochester of Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1912.
