(Médaille commémorative du 125e anniversaire de la Confédération du Canada). Instituted in 1992. In rhodium plated copper and zinc alloy, measuring 36.3 mm (w) x 51.5 mm (h) inclusive of its maple leaf bearing suspension, contact marks evident on both sides and the edge, original ribbon with pinback, better than very fine. In its cardboard box of issue, royal blue paper exterior, the lid with the Canadian coat-of-arms above the dates "1867-1992" in gold-coloured ink, the base with an insert platform in royal blue felt and slotted for the pinback, box near extremely fine.
Footnote: The 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal is a commemorative medal struck by the Royal Canadian Mint to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada, instituted on May 7, 1992. It was awarded to Canadians who were deemed to have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens, to their community, or to Canada. Nominations were submitted to lieutenant governors and territorial commissioners, senators, members of parliament, provincial governments, the Public Service Commission of Canada, the Canadian Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and various federal government departments, as well as organizations throughout the country, and some 42,000 medals were awarded.
