(Papiere). A mixed lot of paper items featuring signatures and handwriting from the estate of Reichsminister Walther Funk, including:
1. A large portrait depicting funk in a civilian suit, pasted to a card stock backer, situated above a handwritten dedication of “MEINEN LIEBEN NICHTE MARGOT ROSE, ZUR ERINNERUNG AN WEIHNACHTEN 1938” (“MY DEAR NIECE MARGOT ROSE, IN MEMORY OF CHRISTMAS 1938”), above Funk’s elaborate signature measuring 27 cm (w) x 37 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. A handwritten letter, printed on off-white paper stock with Funk’s letterhead in his capacity as Reich Minister for Economic Affairs and President of the Reichsbank, dated 28 August 1942, featuring a length inscription to a recipient named as “Seppl”, measuring 21 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), with creases consistent with previous folding into quadrants, in near extremely fine condition.
3. A group of three photos, including a 1937 press photo showing Funk standing alongside Joseph Goebbels, Julius Dorpmüller, and Otto Meissner at a gala, measuring 22.5 cm (w) x 18 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition; a small postwar studio photo of Funk in civilian dress, the reverse bearing a handwritten dedication to his niece, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 6 cm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a photo showing Funk’s grave, the reverse bearing an Agfa paper mark and inscription of “GESTORBEN MAI 1960” (“DIED MAY 1960”), measuring 14 cm (w) x 9 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. A summer 1940 edition of Deutsche Reichsbank’s in-house journal, consisting of volume 4 with pages paginated from 51-67, the cover bearing Funk’s portrait situated above a facsimile signature, measuring 21 cm (w) x 29.5 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
