(Zwei Tiroler Meisterschützenabzeichen für Kleinkalibergewehre). A grouping of two third reich German Tyrolean small caliber rifle marksmanship championship badges, consisting of:
1. A 1943 Tyrolean marksmanship badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a circular green enameled oak leaf wreath that surrounds a pebbled gilt disc, bearing a red enameled Tirolean eagle with outstretched wings clutching a white enameled bullseye target bearing a mobile swastika, flanked by the date of “1943” and below the inscription “KK-Gewehr” (Klein-Kaliber Gewehr/Small Caliber Rifle), the reverse plain with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 51.3 mm in diameter, weighing 26.86 grams, with a small manufacturing error visible underneath the “W” in “Gewehr”, with almost all of its original gilt finish remaining, in better than extremely fine condition.
2. A 1944 Tyrolean marksmanship badge, constructed of gilded zink with multi-coloured paint, the obverse consisting of a circular green painted oak leaf wreath that surrounds a pebbled gilt disc, bearing a red painted Tirolean eagle with outstretched wings clutching a white painted bullseye target bearing a mobile swastika, flanked by the date of “1944” and below the inscription “KK-Gewehr” (Klein-Kaliber Gewehr/Small Caliber Rifle), the reverse plain with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 51.6 grams, with much of its original gilt finish remaining, but having dulled over time, in very fine condition.
