Constructed of silver, suspended from a single-toe claw in the shape of a St. Edward’s Crown attached to the center of the award with a slotted bar, suspended from its period original multi-coloured ribbon with horizontal pinback assembly, the obverse with a rightward facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a diadem, surrounded by the inscription “Elizabeth II Dei Gratia Regina” and “Canada”), the reverse is inscribed with the word “sacrifice” alongside a depiction of the statue of Mother Canada, the rim inscribed “R” otherwise unmarked, measuring 36.0 mm in diameter, weighing 46.36 grams, accompanied by its presentation box, constructed of red textured cardstock, the exterior of the lid embossed with the Canadian Coat of Arms in gilt, the interior with a black recessed insert for placement of the award, measuring 54 mm (w) x 117 mm (l), with patina from age and wear, in overall better than extremely fine condition.
