In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
4 pages, measuring 84x144, better than very fine condition with some scuffing, a folding crease, and light discolouration. The Landsturmschein (Landsturmcertificate) is issued to Wilhelm Kumm, born March 24, 1886 in Duisburg (western Germany). It states that Kumm is drafted into the Landsturm for service without a weapon. It is dated to Duisburg on June 12, 1909.
The certificate contains a note, measuring 208x110mm, extremely fine condition with three folding creases. It is a discharge paper, stating that Kumm had not been drafted for military service during the (First) war. It is dated to Duisburg on November 30, 1918.
Footnote:The Landsturm was responsible for the military training and distribution of all men capable of military service who didn’t serve in the regular army. It was the last national military reserve, in other words the reserve of the reserve. It can be viewed as an irregular homeland militia.
