Two Rivers, Republic. An Order of the Two Rivers, Commander by Bertrand

 (Wisam al-Imtiaz-i-Rafidain). A Royal Order of El Rafidain. Instituted 1922. Civil Division. A Commander of the order consisting of seven silver arms with red enamels, each with ball finials, with ornate white and green enamelled laurels in each quadrant, obverse centre applique presenting an eagle on a blue enamelled background, white enamelled surround with gilt lettering ‘al-Mamlaka al-Iraqiah; Hub al-Watan min al-Iman’ (The Kingdom of Iraq; Love of the Motherland is Faith’), reverse centre in silver gilt with inscribed medallion encircled by white enamel surround, with silver laurel suspension, measuring 66 mm (w) x 94 mm (h - inclusive of laurels and horizontally pierced integral ball suspension), marked AB&Cie on the elongated loop denoting manufacture by Arthus Bertrand, and 800 silver denoting the fineness, on original full length neck ribbon with ties on each end, with minor enamel chips and flakes, otherwise very fine.
