Jordan, Kingdom. An Order of the Star of Jordan, III Class Commander, 1961

(Wisam al-Kawkab al-Urduni). Instituted June 22nd, 1949. Constructed of silver, consisting of a seven-rayed star, each ray consisting of five multi-faceted quills at the lower level and three multi-faceted quills at the the top level, with seven gilded five-pointed stars between the arms of the star, with a central gilt medallion surrounded by a broad green enameled ring inscribed with “Order of the Star of Jordan III. Class 1366. AH” in Arabic script, suspended from one additional and slightly larger gilded five-pointed star with a broad oval loop and neck ribbon, maker marked by Garrard & Co. Ltd and with a series of three Birmingham silver hallmarks denoting 1961 manufacture date, measuring 53.7 mm (w) x 59.4 mm (l), weighing 48.14 grams including ribbon, gilt wear to stars, enamels intact, remains in very fine condition.
