Description

Instituted January 4, 1862. Civil Division. In silvered bronze, a hollow green enamelled seven point star with ball finials and three small silver faceted rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion with a red enamelled field with a central Arabic inscription (ABDULAZIZ HAN EL MUSTENID BITTEVFIKAT EL RABBANIYE MELIK UL DEVLETUL OSAMIYE) with a crescent moon along the bottom, the reverse medallion bears two drums with flags and the inscription SENE 699, surmounted by a crescent moon and five point star suspension, measures 63.9 mm (w) x 82.3 mm (h), weighs 36.9 grams, worn on a small segment of replacement neck ribbon, wear to silver finish, enamels intact, near extremely fine.
