(Kungliga Nordstjärneorden). Instituted in 1748. A Grand Cross in silver gilt, featuring a white enamelled Maltese cross with ball finials, a three dimensional crown in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featured a blue enamelled field with a while enamelled five point star in the center and the motto NESCIT OCCASUM around the edge, the reverse medallion mirrors the obverse, the badge is surmounted by a large crown, measures 54.3 mm (w) x 78.2 mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension), weighs 26.7 grams, unmarked, worn on a full length sash, enamels intact, in very fine condition
Accompanied by the Star of the order, in silver presents a four armed Maltese cross with smooth rays and ball finials, a cluster of nine smooth rays in each quadrant, a five point silver star is superimposed in the center, the reverse presents a single pin assembly, measures 75.4 mm (w) x 75.3 mm (h), weighs 60.3 grams, lovely patina, light wear, in very fine condition.
Contained in the original case of issue, a red leatherette case of issue, silk interior lid marked C.F. CARLMAN STOCKHOLM, the base bears a partial red velvet medal bed for the star, measures 145 mm (w) x 235 mm (h) x 55 mm (d), silk ties to hold open lid are cut, light wear to edges, functional clasp and hinge, very fine.
