A rare example of a passport issued to a Soviet Jewish citizen with multiple entry visas to Third Reich-period Germany, constructed of a card stock binding with a dark brown canvas exterior liner, the cover bearing an embossed Soviet coat of arms, the interior with non-paginated interior pages featuring handwritten and stamped entries, with information presented in both Russian Cyrillic and French Latin script, issued to “CHLINA CHODES” (née “ZOLOTOCHVEI”), with spellings also given as “SCHLINA” and “ZOLOTOSCHWEY”, a seamstress who was born in Odessa (then-Imperial Russia, at the time issue the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic) on 12 July 1910, issued on 23 October 1934 and valid until 7 April 1935 with renewals through 1938, notably featuring visas for travel to Germany through the mid- to late-1930s, each featuring leave to remain for several months, measuring 9.5 cm (w) x 13 cm (h), an interesting documents in extremely fine condition.
