Reuss, Principality. A Princely Honour Cross, I Class Miniature

(Fürstlich Reußisches Ehrenkreuz I. Klasse Miniatur). Instituted 24 May 1869 by Prince Heinrich XIV. (1869-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms joined through the quadrants by stylized rays, the obverse bearing a central red enameled medallion overlaid by a Reuss coat of arms, the reverse bearing a central black enameled medallion overlaid by a monogram of Prince Heinrich XIV, the twelve o’clock arm topped by a fan suspension and integral loop, unmarked, measuring 17.15 mm (w) x 20.06 mm (h), weighing 2.7 grams, a high-quality miniature in extremely fine condition.
