Hungary, Kingdom. A Magyar Királyi Honvédség Zászlós / Ensign's Tunic, by Karai Károly, Budapest

This is an untouched, true example of a Zászlós wartime tunic, made of thick cotton blend in standard olive green, featuring a five button frontal closure, all buttons with buttons 2 and 3 being wartime replacement, four scalloped pockets each with their corresponding buttons, each cuff with an additional three matching buttons, collar insignia exhibiting blue felt base, gilt bullion outline, as well as single star and strip denoting the rank of Zászlós (Ensign), standard  dual braid shoulder boards, with single and originally affixed medal for Commemorative Medal for the Liberation of Transylvania (Erdélyi Emlékérem) 1940, interior with makers label for Karai Károly who was manufacturing army tunics between 1920 into the 1940's in Budapest, exhibiting standard and expected wear patterns throughout the tunic including on collar, cuffs and underarms, a good wartime example, very fine.
