(Auszeichnungen und Insignien). A mixed lot of awards and insignia, including:

1. A War Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR KRIEGSVERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.25 mm in diameter, weighing 12.7 grams, in near mint condition.

2. A War Merit Cross II Class with Swords, constructed of bronzed zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 49.97 mm (w) x 50.46 mm (h), weighing 17.9 grams, demonstrating near-total loss of bronze finish, in very fine condition.

3. A Heer Officer’s visor cap insignia, consisting of a padded dark green wool base, the obverse bearing a central aluminum wire cockade with a red wool centrepiece, situated within an aluminum wire oak leaf wreath, the reverse retaining a partially-intact black paper liner, unmarked, measuring 68 mm (w) x 45 mm (h), in uniform-removed and near extremely fine condition.

4. A Heer Officer’s breast eagle, constructed of dark green wool, the obverse bearing a silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 100 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue, in uniform-removed and near extremely fine condition.
