(Wehrmacht Ernennungsurkunde für einen Oberstleutnant zum Oberst). Constructed of off-white paper stock and presented in multi-coloured ink, named to “WALTHER HIERSEMENZEL”, promoting the recipient from the rank of Oberstleutnant to Oberst, issued from Führer Headquarters on 18 January 1942 with an effective date of 1 February, certified by the facsimile signature of AH and the handwritten signature of Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 30 September 1939), concealed within its period original card stock folder, measuring 26 cm (w) x 36 cm (h), demonstrating minor discolouration, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: An Oberst Walter (sic) Hiersemenzel appears on a list of Allied denazification proceedings, with information indicating that he was born on 18 July 1883 in Lauban, Silesia (Lubań, Poland), was already retired upon the end of the war, and died on 15 April 1946
