Germany, Third Reich. An SA Member’s Belt Buckle, with Mixed Austro-Bavarian Badges

(Sturmabteilung Gürtelschnalle mit Abzeichen). A mixed lot of items, including:

1. A Sturmabteilung (SA) member’s belt buckle, constructed of brass, the obverse bearing a central raised SA-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, situated within a ribbed ring bearing oak leaf branches, the reverse with a loop and attachment claws emanating from a functional roller, unmarked, measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of gilt finish to the base metal, in very fine condition.

2. A Bavarian Red Cross member’s badge, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 28 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), a late-war to early post-war example in extremely fine condition.

3. A Bavarian veterans’ association badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, the reverse maker marked “C. POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 20 mm (w) x 20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

4. A 1924 Linz cathedral consecration festival commemorative badge, constructed of bronze with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 24 mm (w) x 28 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
