A field photograph of Hauptmann Helmut Mahlke with an aircraft in the background, signed on the reverse in blue ink, measuring 148 mm (w) x 102 mm (h); a field photograph of Oberleutnant Alexander Glaser, the reverse bears a white label and is signed in black ink, measuring 90 mm (w) x 131 mm (h); a field photograph of Hauptmann Herbert Singer, signed in blue ink on the photograph, measuring 89 mm (w) x 131 mm (h), all very fine.
Footnote: Helmut Malhke was born 27 August 1913. He was a pilot in the Luftwaffe and was decorated with the Front Flying Clasp of the Luftwaffe in Gold, Iron Cross I and II Class, Wound Badge in Silver, Eastern Front Medal, German Cross in Gold, and the Knight's Cross. Alexander Glaser was born on 4 January 1914. He began his career in the Luftwaffe in the mid-1930s as a non-commissioned officer, undergoing training as a dive bomber pilot. He quickly became recognized as a skilled pilot, climbing the ranks and after flying his 500th mission he was awarded the Knight’s Cross. Gläser flew until the last day of the war, on May 8, 1945. Two days later, he would again play a key role in his unit by negotiating with US troops to renounce his Gruppe, escaping Soviet captivity. Herbert Singer was born 9 August 1919. He received the Iron Cross I and II Class, German Cross in Gold, Melee clasp in gold, Honorary clasp of the Army and Waffen-SS, and the Knight’s Cross.
