Constructed of silvered and patinated tombak, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a central blockade breaker cutting through waves and breaching the chain, overlaid across the bow by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN” and maker marked “SCHWERIN, BERLIN”, measuring 48.84 mm in diameter, weighing 36.3 grams; accompanied by a matching stick pin miniature, constructed of silvered and patinated tombak, unmarked, measuring 25.73 mm in diameter; enclosed within their original presentation case, constructed of a card stock frame with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the interior with a blue rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted dark blue velvet medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior push-button release, unmarked, measuring 105 mm (w) x 80 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), a superb and matching set in near mint condition.
