(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of Imperial- and Third Reich-period awards, including:
1. A medal bar to a First World War combatant featuring two decorations, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, without visible marks, measuring 42.42 mm (w) x 45.80 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class, constructed of coppered zink, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Ludwig II, set within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian lion rampant, set within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an institution date of “1866” with arabesques, the twelve o’clock arm riveted with a magnetic metal crossed sword clasp, unmarked, measuring 42.84 mm (w) x 50.89 mm (h), demonstrating total loss of finish, in very fine condition; both suspended from a 70 mm-long zink bar with a horizontal pinback and red wool reverse liner, unmarked, demonstrating moderate wear to the ribbons, in very fine condition.
2. A War Merit Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Maltese Cross with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR KRIEGS-VERDIENST 1939” (“FOR WAR MERIT 1939”), unmarked, measuring 32.19 mm in diameter, weighing 12.6 grams, in near mint condition.
3. A Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central raised Stahlhelm overlaid by a mobile swastika, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a clip hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “107” for Carl Wild, Hamburg, measuring 36.86 mm (w) x 44.30 mm (h), weighing 9.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
