WELTKRIEG 1914-1918” (“GRANDFATHER’S (1870-1940) WATCH FROM WORLD WAR I 1914-1918”), the dust cover opening to reveal mechanisms with an inscription of “SWISS MADE” and marks indicating forwards and backwards movement, otherwise unmarked, measuring 68 mm in total diameter, minor scratching is visible throughout the case but both the watch and stopwatch appear to remain fully functional, an interesting and unusual example possibly owned by an ethnically Danish servicemen in the Imperial German Army (one of the approximately 26,000 Danish-speakers recruited from the Schleswig region) or alternatively retrieved by a German soldier from a Dane in an unknown exchange, in near extremely fine condition.
