A Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class Cross with Swords, constructed of coppered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Ludwig II, situated within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian lion rampant, situated within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an institution date of “1866” unmarked, measuring 42.46 mm (w) x 50.27 mm (h), weighing 22.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Bavarian Order of Military Merit, IV Class Cross with Swords, constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with blue enameled arms joined through the quadrants by stylized flames, the obverse bearing a central black enameled medallion overlaid by a raised monogram of King Ludwig II, situated within a stylized white enameled belt and buckle bearing a silvered inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”) with arabesques, the twelve o’clock arm riveted with a crossed sword clasp, the reverse bearing a central black enameled medallion overlaid by a silvered Bavarian lion rampant, situated within a stylized white enameled belt and buckle bearing a silvered institution date of “1866” with arabesques, the reverse of the cross maker marked with the logo of Jacob Leser, Straubing, with a silver content number of “950”, the reverse of the loop stamped with a silver content number of “800”, and the reverse of the swords maker marked with an additional Jacob Leser logo with a silver content number of “900”, measuring 41.68 mm (w) x 50.42 mm (h), weighing 26.0 grams, demonstrating minor flecking to the enamels and a consistent patina to the silver base, in extremely fine condition.
3. A Saxon Friedrich August Medaille, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original peacetime ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich August III, situated within a laurel wreath, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FRIEDRICH AUGUST MEDAILLE”, surrounded by a floral wreath, unmarked, measuring 28.70 mm in diameter, weighing 12.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
4. A Somme Cross, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the reverse maker marked “FLECK & SOHN, HAMBURG”, measuring 39.57 mm (w) x 39.63 mm (h), weighing 11.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating minor flecking and scratching throughout the enamels, in better than very fine condition.
5. A Champagne Cross, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the reverse maker marked “FLECK & SOHN, HAMBURG”, measuring 39.95 mm (w) x 43.06 mm (h), weighing 10.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating minor flecking and scratching throughout the enamels, in better than very fine condition.
