In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(HJ Fahrtenmesser). An HJ member’s knife, measuring 25.5 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 14.5 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains some factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. The reverse ricasso bears a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M7/51/41” for Anton Wingen, Jr., Solingen. The blade sits securely within a nickel-plated magnetic steel hilt with a hooked quillon and pommel. Two pieces of pebbled black bakelite compose the handle grip, and are fastened in position with dual non-magnetic metal rivets. Inset into the obverse of the grip is a replacement enameled HJ insignia measuring 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). Accompanying the knife is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. Riveted to the reverse is a replacement vulcanfibre strap, fastened into a loop for belt suspension, which retains a functional snap button. In addition to the replacement elements, the blade demonstrates minor running marks and chipping to the edge, sporadic loss of nickel plating to the hilt, and scratching throughout the scabbard paint. This late-period, refurbished example remains in a very fine condition.
