Germany, Heer. An Officer’s Staff Car Fender Pennant

(Heer Wimpel für ein Dienstfahrzeug). A well-preserved Heer Officer’s staff car pennant, constructed of a triangular field-grey cotton/rayon blended cloth base, bearing double-sided machine-embroidered Wehrmacht eagles clutching wreathed mobile swastikas, executed in silver-grey threading with feathering and details highlighted in black, trimmed along two edges with braided silver-grey threaded piping, the hoist edge inset with a hollow channel which retains a magnetic metal rod for fender attachment, retaining its original transparent cellophane casing, unmarked, measuring 32 cm (l) x 20 cm (h), demonstrating some material fatigue to the flag, including a small tear to the lower hoist edge and additional pulling resulting in discolouration (likely stemming from the tension of the interior frame degrading the cloth) in addition to age-related discoloration of the casing, in very fine condition.
