In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Nachrichtentruppe). A well-preserved Heer Signals Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool with a pronounced whipcord weave. It features reinforced side walls which are lined on the exterior with a dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with light yellow piping, while an additional length of identical piping surrounds the outer edge of the crown. The crown’s internal reinforcement has been removed to give the cap a popular but non-regulation “Sattelform” appearance. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a dark green wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band features an additional insignia in the form of a dark green wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum wire tri-colour cockade and wreath, measuring 65 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by pebbled magnetic metal buttons which accommodate a chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in brown on the reverse. The interior is encompassed by a multi-piece beige rayon liner, while a wide dark brown leather sweatband surrounds the interior of the walls. The crown retains an intact transparent plastic moisture guard. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 22.5 cm (w) x 28.5 cm (l) x 16 cm (h). Some issues consistent with age and field wear are evident, and include minor material fatigue to the exterior material, the severance of the left side of the chinstrap around the corresponding button, in addition to minor soiling and material fatigue of the interior. The cap remains in an overall better than very fine condition.
