(Bundeswehr Gasmasken). A mixed lot of gas masks, including:
1. A Bundeswehr M58 mask, constructed of slate-grey rubber, featuring two triangular eyepieces with intact transparent celluloid eyepieces situated within aluminum frames, featuring a threaded channel for the addition of a filter which has been lost to time, retaining all rubber straps and buckles, accompanied by its original storage canister, constructed of olive-drab painted magnetic steel, the exterior with a dimpled and ribbed surface, with two loops emanating from the side of the canister retaining an original canvas carrying strap, featuring an additional elasticized strap which locks in place with a stud to fasten the lid closed, opening to reveal a hidden compartment set into the lid, measuring 12 cm (w) x 33 cm (h), both the mask and canister demonstrate minor material fatigue, in overall very fine condition.
2. A Reichsluftschutzbund (Reich Air Protection League/RLB) mask, constructed of olive-drab rubber, featuring two circular eyepieces with intact transparent celluloid eyepieces situated within aluminum frames, featuring a threaded channel for the addition of a filter, the latter included and constructed of a wide aluminum casing, retaining adjustable elasticized straps for wear, the interior stamped with issue marks, demonstrating age-appropriate fatigue, in very fine condition.
