In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Bayerischer Artillerie-Extrasäbel). A very well-preserved Bavarian Army Artillery sabre, measuring 96 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features an 80 cm-long, nickel-plated, curved magnetic steel blade which features double-sided fullers. Acid-etched onto both sides of the blade are inscriptions of “IN TREUE FEST” (“STEADFAST IN LOYALTY”), flanked by clusters of oak leaves. The obverse ricasso is maker marked with the classic dual king and knight logo of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen. The blade sits securely within a multi-piece hilt which features a nickel-plated magnetic steel guard, quillon, and backstrap. The handle grip is composed of a single piece of ribbed black celluloid. Accompanying the sabre is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. An integral band set into the shaft just below the throat retains a loop for the inclusion of a hanger, while a functional catch situated within the throat itself firmly holds the sabre in place during storage. Minor issues consistent with age and wear are visible, and include faint running marks to the black, sporadic loss of nickel plated to the hilt, and sporadic loss of scabbard paint. This superb Bavarian Artillery sabre remains in an extremely fine condition.
