1.Soviet Union. USSR Medal for Bravery.
Instituted in 1938. In silver, obverse medallion shows three aircraft flying from right to left, below the aircraft is the impressed and red enameled inscription in two lines “ЗА ОТВАГУ”, below is a tank and the red enameled inscription CCCP, on the Soviet pentagonal mount with original ribbon, 37 mm, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: This medal was created by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 17 October 1938. It was awarded to soldiers of the Soviet Army, Navy, border and internal troops and other citizens of the USSR, as well as to persons who are not citizens of the USSR, for personal courage and bravery displayed in battles against the enemies of the socialist fatherland, while protecting the state border of the USSR, during the performance of military duties in circumstances involving a risk to life.
2.Soviet Union. USSR Order of Glory, III Class
Instituted in 1943. Silver and enamel five-pointed star, obverse center shows Spasskaya Tower of the Kremlin, red-enameled scroll reads “СЛАВА”, medallion framed by laurel branches, reverse stamped with number “478535” and inscription “CCCP”,50 mm (h) x 45 mm (w), on Soviet pentagonal mount with original ribbon, very fine condition.
Footnote: The Order of Glory was a military decoration of the Soviet Union established by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on 8 November 1943. It was awarded to soldiers and non-commissioned officers of the Red Army as well as to aviation junior lieutenants, for bravery in the face of the enemy.
3. Soviet Union. USSR WWII 30th Jubilee Medal
Instituted in 1975. In brass, obverse shows the image of the statue of ‘The Motherland Calls’ besides a five pointed star and the dates 1945-1975, reverse shows along the upper medal circumference the relief inscription "УЧАСТНИКУ ВОЙНЫ” and the inscription "XXX лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941—1945 гг.”, on a Soviet pentagonal mount with original ribbon, 36.5mm, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The medal was instituted on 25 April 1975 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR to denote the thirtieth anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.
4.Soviet Union. USSR Medal for Combat Service.
Instituted in 1938. Type II (1943-1999 Issue). In silver with red enamels, the obverse inscription reads “ЗА БОЕВЫЕ ЗАСЛУГИ”, on a Soviet pentagonal mount with pinback, mm, intact enamels, very light contact overall, 32.5 mm, very fine condition.
Footnote: The Medal for Combat Service was a Soviet military medal instituted on 17 October 1938 by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union. It was awarded for combat action resulting in a military success, courageous defense of the state borders, or successful military and political training and preparation.
