Spain, Kingdom. A Star of Isabella the Catholic, Grand Cross Star

(A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica). Instituted in 1815. In silver gilt, cross in red enamel, each of the arms finished with two ball finials, rays in each quadrant, centrepiece ring shows FR cypher on a blue enamelled field surrounded by a laurel wreath and the inscription “A La Lealtad Acrisolada Por Isabel la Católica”, reverse bears a vertical pin and dual stays, marked with a boars head on the pin and the catch denoting French manufacture post 1838 and 800 silver fineness, additional partial mark on pin, measures 76 mm (w) x 77 mm, weighs 68.59 grams, enamels intact, remains in very fine condition.
